Introduction to the hālau:
The hālau is recognized as one of the leading groups practicing, preserving, and living Hawaiian culture today. Through the language, music, chant, and the history that accompanies the mele, the hālau honors and perpetuates the traditions of Hawai‘i. In addition to competing in hula competitions and presenting special performances, the hālau actively participates in community activities, offering support and talents whenever needed.
Over the years, the hālau has participated in esteemed competitions such as the King Kamehameha Hula Competition (2009, 2010), the All Japan Championship Hula Competition (2013, 2015, 2018, 2019, 2024), and Hula ‘Oni E Japan (2014, 2015), achieving top honors across various categories.

私たちのハーラウは、現代においてハワイ文化を実践し、受け継ぎ、そして体現するグループのひとつです。メレと共にある言語、音楽、チャント、歴史を通じて、私たちはハワイの伝統を敬い、大切に受け継いでいます。フラ競技会への出場やイベント・コンサート等でのパフォーマンスに加え、地域活動にも積極的に参加し、必要とされる場で自分たちのできる形で力を尽くしています。
これまでに、2009，2010年のキング・カメハメハ・フラ・コンペティション、2013，2015，2018，2019，2024年の全日本フラ選手権、2014，2015年のフラ・オニエ・ジャパンなどの著名な大会に出場し、各カテゴリーで優秀な成績を収めております。

Nā Kumu Hula Sonny Ching and Lōpaka Igarta- De Vera are humbled and honored that our Wahine and wahine Waipahē of Hālau Nā Mamo o Pu’uanahulu Iāpana has been given this opportunity to share the stage with Hawai’i’s own Treasured recording artist and Kumu Hula Robert Uluwehi Cazimero.
The aspirations for our Haumāna participating in this wonderful event is to humbly share the stage with Kumu Hula Robert Uluwehi Cazimero and create together something beautiful for the audience and all those involved. To create the imagery by allowing the choreography that comes from HNMOPi to complement Robert’s singing and storytelling, capturing the audience and the artists at the same time. To be in that time and space, uplifting the thoughts and the mo’ōlelo of the composer and the composer’s intentions.
クムフラ サニー・チングとロパカ・イガルタ・デ・ヴェラは、ハーラウ・ナー・マモ・オ・プーウアナフル・イアパナのワヒネとワヒネ・ワイパヘが、ハワイの宝であるアーティスト、そしてクムフラであるロバート・ウルヴェヒ・カジメロ氏と同じ舞台に立たせていただけることを、心から光栄に思っております。
